Managing Growth & Development

Driven by provincial targets that require new housing and development across the region growth is reshaping the County of Brant. This challenge must be managed thoughtfully and never at the expense of the character, heritage, and natural beauty that makes our community special.

Growth can’t outpace the services residents rely on. My approach centres on balance, welcoming new residents while protecting rural landscapes, small-town charm, and green spaces. Development must be matched with the infrastructure to support it with focus on roads, water, wastewater, transportation, and healthcare. Commercial and employment growth must keep pace with residential development, so homeowners are no longer left carrying the bulk of the tax burden alone.

Having worked within a provincially-mandated growth plan, my experience provides insight as to how every decision affects our County today, tomorrow and for years to come. Responsible and sustainable development — pursued through collaboration with residents, developers, and businesses — ensure grounded and open dialogue rather than conflict.

The goal : a County that grows without losing the magic that makes it home.
